News BriefsOutbound Caller ID availableFaculty and staff 10-digit telephone numbers can be displayed to persons being called off campus, including via cell phones, using the Outbound Caller ID feature now available on most University faculty and staff telephones on the Ann Arbor, Flint and Dearborn campuses. The feature also offers the ability to return to generic call displays by entering *67 before the call. By dialing *67 then 9 and the number, the Outbound Caller ID will read "University of Michigan 734-647-0000." The text displayed will depend on the recipient's telephone service. Outbound Caller ID is not available on University Housing student residence telephones or on Voice-over-IP telephones on the Flint and Dearborn campuses. There is no charge to add Outbound Caller ID. Orders can be placed by department ID managers or their proxies through the ITCom Online Service Center, itcom.itcs.umich.edu.
