A musical mentor

Center for World Performance Studies artist-in-residence Koo Nimo performs with his students Dec. 6 in the Residential College Auditorium. The performance featured an Ashanti court drumming and palm-wine guitar ensemble. Nimo is Ghana’s foremost authority on acoustic guitar ‘high-life,’ or palm-wine guitar music, and was trained in the Ashanti drumming tradition at an early age. He is the recipient of a lifetime award from the International Association for the Study of Popular Music. Click through Photo Stories below for more photos of the performance.
