Plant Building Services: Plant Building Services will close at 12:30 a.m. Dec. 23 and re-open 7:30 a.m. Jan. 2. Limited services, including restroom maintenance, corridor cleaning and trash removal from centralized locations, will be provided Dec. 2629 in buildings remaining open over the holidays.
There will be an ample supply of trash bags placed in the bottom of trash receptacles for those who wish to discard trash from offices, laboratories, etc. Emergency services will be available on request Dec. 23Jan. 2 by calling the Emergency Maintenance System, (734) 647-2059, or the Department of Public Safety, (734) 763-1131.
Occupational Safety and Environmental Health: The Department of Occupational Safety and Environmental Health (OSEH) will close at 4:30 p.m. Dec. 22 and reopen at 7:30 a.m. Jan. 2. OSEH staff will respond to emergencies during the holidays. Requests for emergency services should be directed to the Department of Public Safety, (734) 763-1131.
Hazardous Material staff will collect radioactive materials, chemical waste and pathological wastes as usual through Dec. 22, but everyone is strongly urged to call early for pickups. Routine pickups of these hazardous materials will resume Jan. 2. If special arrangements are required, call (734) 763-4568 prior to Dec. 15.
Staff working with radioactive or chemical materials during the holidays should have a sufficient supply of waste containers to accommodate the workload. Laboratories are encouraged to call OSEH, prior to the holidays, to procure the appropriate supplies. Approval for radioactive materials must be obtained prior to Dec. 20. Radiation Safety staff will deliver radioactive material packages Dec. 2629.
