DRDA will close for the holidays mid-day Dec. 22 and reopen at 8 a.m. Jan. 2. Faculty, research staff and others who plan to process materials through DRDA Dec. 22 are reminded that only limited staff will be available and that arrangements should be made with the appropriate project representative well in advance to ensure sufficient time for handling deadline materials.
The Proposal Writing Workshop is an intensive overview of the narrative portion of a proposal from the perspective of the reviewer. Areas covered include approaching a sponsor, components of a narrative (including budget), matching the narrative to the sponsors priorities and guidelines, writing style, and common errors to avoid. Sample proposals will be reviewed, and there will be plenty of opportunity for questions and answers. The workshop will be presented by Chris Kahan Black 8:30 a.m.noon, Jan. 31 in the Pendleton Room, Michigan Union. A few DRDA project representatives will be in attendance for the last hour of the workshop to answer questions about budget issues and proposals processing. To register for this workshop, consult the research Web site (www.research.umich.edu) for online registration. Cost of the workshop is $10 for materials. If you have any questions, contact Janet Seegert, 764-7241, or jseegert@umich.edu.
