This photograph captures a scene from a 1948 U-M production of Shakespeares As You Like It. A unique feature of the performance was the women in walking scenery portraying trees.
The photograph is one of many items on display through April in the Bentley Historical Librarys exhibition Shakespeare on Campus. Part of the celebration The Michigan Residency of the Royal Shakespeare Company in March, the exhibition highlights various interpretations of Shakespeares work throughout the years by University drama groups, visiting performers and faculty.
