Photo story: Designs explore stored kinetic energy

This mobile and others suspended above the east corridor of the Art and Architecture Building are student projects from Prof. Shaun Jackson’s class on the architecture of objects. Jackson, associate professor of art and design, asked his class to explore wire forming, kinetic art, balance, motion and color. The mobile designs integrate laser-cut wood, painted wood, plastic, photos, dowels, handcrafted paper, fabric and wax. They come alive with ambient air flowing above the corridor.
