Women’s basketball team improves national ranking

Michigan women’s basketball has bumped up its ranking to 16th in the AP poll after opening the 2001–02 season ranked 17th—the first time the program, led by head coach Sue Guevara, has been ranked in the preseason Top 25 poll. Michigan posts a 4–1 record following a home opener victory, 65–49, over Marquette University Nov. 29.

Michigan faculty and staff members can cheer on favorite teams—including women’s basketball, volleyball, gynastics, wrestling, softball and baseball—for free using an M-Go Blue Pass from the Department of Athletics.
