Services

Mail Service:

Closed Dec. 25 and Jan. 1. The U.S. Postal Service will be open Dec. 26–28 and 31, but will not provide service to University buildings unless advance written requests are received at University Mail Service by Dec. 14. Also, University Mail Service must be notified by Dec. 14 if pickup and delivery service is required Dec. 24. Standard permit mail to be processed and mailed by the end of the year must be received by University Mail Service by 5 p.m. Dec. 20. Mail must be at University Mail Service by 1 p.m. Dec. 21 to be postmarked before Dec. 25. For information, call (734) 764-9227.

Payroll Office:

Closed Dec. 25–27 and Dec. 31–Jan. 1. 7:30 a.m.–2 p.m. Dec. 24 and 8 a.m.–2 p.m. Dec. 28.

Treasurer’s Office (Room 10090, Wolverine Tower):

Closed Dec. 25–Jan. 1. The Gifts of Securities Team will be available Dec. 26–28 and 31 to accept gifts. For assistance with gifts, call (734) 647-9090.

Michigan Administrative Information Services (MAIS):

Most MAIS business offices closed 5 p.m. Dec. 24–8 a.m. Jan. 2. The M-Pathways Financial/Physical Resources, Student Administration, and HR Management systems keep normal. Hours are on the Web at www.mpathways.umich.edu/getstart/hours.html. The M-Pathways Help Desk will be closed. To report a suspected M-Pathways system outage or for password resets, call (734) 936-7000. Regular office hours resume Jan. 2.

Risk Management and Work~Connections:

Closed 5 p.m. Dec 24–8 a.m. Jan. 2. Employee injuries may be reported as usual to the Work~Connections message system at (734) 615-0643. For damage to University property, injuries to non-employees and any emergency, contact the Department of Public Safety at (734) 763-1131.

Plant Building Services:

Emergency services will be available at all times Dec. 22–Jan. 2 by calling the Plant Order Services at (734) 647-2059, or DPS, (734) 763-1131. Limited services will be provided Dec. 26–28 and 31 in buildings remaining open.

Occupational Safety and Environmental Health (OSEH):

OSEH staff will respond to emergencies. Requests for emergency services should be directed to the Department of Public Safety, (734) 763-1131.

Hazardous Materials staff will conduct radioactive material, chemical waste and pathological waste collections as usual through Dec. 24, but individuals are urged to call early for pick ups. Routine pick ups will resume Jan. 2.

Division of Research Development and Administration (DRDA):

Closed mid-day Dec. 24–8 a.m. Jan. 2. Staff availability will be limited Dec. 24. It would be in the best interest of faculty, research staff and others who plan to process materials through DRDA in late December to make arrangements with the appropriate project representative well in advance to ensure sufficient time for handling deadline materials.

Information Technology Central Services (ITCS):

Most Information Technology Central Services (ITCS) offices will close at 5 p.m. Dec. 21 and reopen Jan. 2, with the following exceptions:

4-HELP Consulting phone service:

closed but consulting assistance will be available via e-mail at online.consulting@umich.edu.

Campus Computing Sites:

Closed 5:30 p.m. Dec. 22–10 a.m. Jan. 6. Access to card-key sites will be subject to building hours during the break. Angell Hall will operate 7:30 a.m.–11:30 p.m. daily for Angell Hall and SEB willl be open 7:30 a.m.–9:30 p.m. daily, Jan. 6–27, when the regular winter term schedule begins.
