How to get there: Holiday parking, transportation services

Parking and Transportation Services offices at 508 Thompson St. and 1213 Kipke Dr. will be closed at the end of business Dec. 24–Jan. 1 at University parking lots and structures.

Parking enforcement for color-coded permits and meter fees will be suspended 5 p.m. Dec. 21–6 a.m. Jan. 2. Non-permit violations will continue to be enforced.

Commuter Bus: Regular schedule through Dec. 21, resuming Jan. 2.

Northwood and Bursley-Baits bus service: Regular schedule through Dec. 21. North Campus housing areas will be served by the North Campus route Dec. 22–24. The North Campus Route will run every 20 minutes, following the holiday and weekend schedule. Last bus leaves Central Campus at 6:20 p.m. Dec. 24. No bus service Dec. 25 and Jan. 1.

North Campus Route follows winter break schedule Dec. 26–31, with the first bus leaving Northwood V at 7:20 a.m. Service is on 40-minute intervals; last bus leaves Central Campus at 12:40 a.m.

Regular weekday bus service resumes Jan. 2. Flyers detailing bus service levels and schedules will be available on buses and at bus shelters.

Nite Owl service operates through Dec. 20, and resumes Jan. 7.

Parking Express (UMMC) Shuttle Services operate through Dec. 21, and resume Jan. 2. A combined Kellogg/North Ingalls shuttle will be available 7–5 p.m. Dec. 24–31 (weekdays only), leaving the North Ingalls Building on the hour and half hour and from Riverview on the :15s and :45s. Stops include Riverview, Kellogg, Cancer/Geriatric Center, Taubman and Mott. No shuttle service Dec. 25 or Jan. 1.

Paratransit transportation operates through Dec. 21, and resumes Jan. 2. Transit buses will be accessible during the holiday period.

All University buses operating during the holiday recess will be accessible.

Parking A–Taubman Patient/Visitor Structure (M18): Free parking Dec. 25 and Jan. 1. Regular operations 9 a.m.–3 p.m. Dec. 24, 31, 9 a.m.–7 p.m. Dec. 26–30.

Parking B–North Entrance Structure Patient/Visitor Parking (M15): Free parking Dec. 25 and Jan. 1. Open for regular operations 9 a.m.–3 p.m. Dec. 24, 31, 9 a.m.–7 p.m. Dec. 26–28.

Fletcher Structure Patient Parking (N13): Regular operations continue until close of business Dec. 21. Regular business hours resume Jan. 2.

Transportation Garages will close at the end of the day shift Dec. 24 and resume operations at 7 a.m. Jan. 2. Any emergencies 4 p.m. Dec. 24–7 a.m. Jan. 2 should be directed to the Department of Public Safety (DPS), (734) 763-1131.

Fleet Services closes the 1213 Kipke Drive office at 5 p.m. Dec. 24, and resumes 6:30 a.m. Jan. 2. All vehicle rental requests after 5 p.m. Dec. 24 and before 6:30 a.m. Jan. 2 will need to be picked up Dec. 24 during normal business hours.

Fuel stations will operate throughout the season break. The Baxter Road station is accessible 24 hours. The Kipke Drive station can be made accessible by contacting DPS, (734) 763-1131.

Ann Arbor City Transport

Ann Arbor Transportation Authority (AATA): The AATA will not operate fixed-route bus or paratransit service Dec. 25 or Jan. 1. Service will be reduced to 30-minute service on routes 4 and 36 Dec. 24–31, with no service on routes 1U, 12U and the EMU shuttle. Service will end at 7 p.m. Dec. 24 and Jan. 1.

Holiday Ride shared-ride taxi service will operate 7–11 p.m. Dec. 24 and 31, and 6 a.m.–11 p.m. Dec. 25 and Jan. 1. Night Ride taxi service operates from 11 p.m.–6 a.m. throughout the holiday week.

Holiday Ride and Night Ride, which operate only within the city limits of Ann Arbor, cost $2 a trip. To schedule a Holiday Ride or Night Ride trip, call (734) 663-3888.
