Grounds Department cleans up after sleet and snow
The University experienced the biggest snowfall of the season last week. Sleet and freezing rain made walking around campus slick, and snow removal crews swept sidewalks. Last year, the University had spent 70 percent of its snow removal budget by mid-Jan. Prior to last weeks winter storm, only 15 percent of the snow removal budget had been spent because of mild winter weather. In fact, last Mondays temperature topped the previous record of 51 degrees set in 1941. (Photo by Paul Jaronski, U-M Photo Services)
