Wolverine spirits high as former U-M QB named MVP of Super Bowl XXXVI

1999 alumni Tom Brady (left) led the New England Patriots to a Super Bowl win Feb. 3 against the St. Louis Rams. Brady, a 6th round draft choice for the Pats, is the youngest quarterback to win the Super Bowl and to be named most valuable player. Brady is the second U-M player to win the MVP award. He joins Heisman Trophy winner Desmond Howard, who won in 1996 while playing for the Green Bay Packers when the pack was up against none other than the New England Patriots.

Former U-M student Ty Law (right) also made a big contribution to last week’s bowl game. Law scored the first touchdown for the Patriots, running a 47-yard interception return.
