MLK explosion of activities

Volunteers gathered at the Ginsberg Center for Community Service and Learning on the Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service to size and inventory knitted goods made by the U-M KnitWits organization for distribution by students participating in Project SERVE. From left, Rima Makhiaoaka, Elizabeth Gilbert, Abdea Berhane, Nerissa Germain and Joe Abdou processed more than 2,600 hats, mittens and scarves for distribution during Alternative Spring Break to homeless shelters, Native American reservation schools, boys and girls clubs, HIV hospice facilities, and agencies serving Hmong and Somali refugees.
