Life Sciences Institute test model speeds construction
A small structure was recently built
between the Central Campus Recreation Building and the Palmer Field
tennis courts to provide a test model for different exterior elements of the
Life Sciences Institute Building, being built across the street.
The mock-up allows masonry workers and construction engineers to visually conceptualize how each of the buildings masonry elements are to be applied. Rather than a subsection of any one part of the building, the test model is a conglomeration of many different areas. (Photos by Bill Wood, U-M Photo Services)
