More than 300 students from the Coalition to Defend Affirmative
Action by Any Means Necessary (BAMN) rally on campus. The event
was scheduled to coincide with the University’s filing of
a response to a petition to have the U.S. Supreme Court hear two
admissions lawsuits against U-M. BAMN wants the high court to hear
the cases, but the University doesn’t think it is necessary.
The rally Oct. 30 was one in a series of events BAMN organizers
are planning to show support for affirmative action. The group also
plans a march on Washington, should the case reach the Supreme Court.
