President Mary Sue Coleman talks with Slovak Republic President
Rudolf Schuster during a reception April 11 in honor of his visit
to Ann Arbor. In addition to the reception and dinner with Coleman,
Schuster toured U-M and University Hospital, met with local business
and community leaders, toured the U.S. Steel Plant in Troy, and
visited Henry Ford Village in Dearborn. His visit was part of a
multi-day official tour to the United States that involved meeting
with President George W. Bush and leaders of Congress, including
Michigan Sen. Carl Levin. Schuster also spent time with Michigan
Gov. Jennifer Granholm and members of the state Legislature, as
well as economic development and education leaders in the state.
