Free services offered at Feb. 8 eventResidents of Ann Arbor and surrounding communities are invited to receive free oral health care services at the School of Dentistry during Dental Health Day on Saturday, Feb. 8. Regardless of income, individuals as young as five can participate in the program from 9 a.m.-noon. An appointment is not necessary. However, patients will be seen on a first-come, first-served basis.
About a dozen of the school's dental and dental hygiene faculty, and about 50 dental and dental hygiene students, will provide various services and oral hygiene instruction clinics on the first floor of the School of Dentistry, 1011 N. University Ave. Among the services that will be provided are free oral cancer screenings, tooth decay examinations and screening x-rays. Treatments will not be provided. General dental care clinics and specialty clinics providing advanced treatment enable the school to offer dental services and programs to patients throughout Michigan. Classroom and clinic instruction prepare future dentists, dental specialists and dental hygienists for practice in private offices, hospitals, academia and public agencies. For more information, call the School of Dentistry at (734) 763-3313. More stories
