Pharmacy dean search advisory committee announcedProvost Paul N. Courant has asked Henry Mosberg, associate dean for research and graduate education and professor of medicinal chemistry, to chair the search for a new dean of the College of Pharmacy. Current Dean George Kenyon is stepping down from the position Aug. 31, 2004, so he can devote more time to his research. Courant also appointed other members to the committee, which is charged with presenting an unranked slate of finalists by the end of the fall semester. Other members are: Cesar Alaniz, clinical associate professor of pharmacy, College of Pharmacy, and clinical pharmacist, University Hospitals; Sandra Chase, alumna and president, Board of Governors, College of Pharmacy; Paul Hollenberg, Maurice H. Seevers Collegiate Professor of Pharmacology, and professor and chair, Department of Pharmacology, Medical School; Duane Kirking, professor and chair, Department of Social and Administrative Sciences, College of Pharmacy, and research scientist, Health Management and Policy, School of Public Health; Lisa Loomis, student, Pharm.D. program, College of Pharmacy, and pharmacy intern tech., U-M Hospital Inpatient Pharmacy Services; Nair Rodriguez-Hornedo, associate professor of pharmaceutical sciences, College of Pharmacy; Pennie Rutan, administrative associate, College of Pharmacy; Lynda Welage, associate professor of pharmacy, College of Pharmacy, and clinical pharmacist, University Hospitals; Ronald Woodard, associate chair for professional studies and professor of Medicinal Chemistry, College of Pharmacy, and professor of chemistry, LSA.
