for its 30th year June 23-Aug. 1. Dental students will provide a range
of oral health care services to migrant workers and their children at
three schools in the Traverse City area: Elk Rapids Middle, Kaleva Community
Elementary and Suttons Bay Elementary. Basic services include screenings,
oral exams and cleanings. When necessary, extractions, fillings and x-rays
will be provided. The dental students will advise parents and children
on the correct way to care for teeth and other actions to improve oral
health. More than twice as many students volunteered to participate in
this year's program than in the previous year. Last year, nearly 300 adults
and children received care at the three sites.
