North campus shooting leaves one injured
The Department of Public Safety (DPS) is searching for two males who reportedly approached a pedestrian on a North Campus sidewalk early June 9 and fired five shots, hitting him once. The 40-year-old victim was taken to the U-M Hospital and treated for a non-life-threatening injury.

The shooting reportedly occurred about 1:40 a.m. on Hubbard Drive near Cram Circle. The victim fled to a nearby apartment, and DPS was called to the scene.

A $1,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the successful arrest and prosecution of the suspects.

The suspects are described as:

• Suspect 1: Black male about 20 years old, 6 feet, 180 pounds, medium complexion, clean shaven. He was last seen wearing a red hooded sweatshirt, rust-colored running pants and dark running shoes.

• Suspect 2: Black male about 20 years old, 6 feet, 180 pounds, thin build and dark complexion. He was last seen wearing a red hooded sweatshirt, running pants of an unknown color and running shoes.

One of the red sweatshirts was reported to have a white hood and white lettering saying "Hoosiers" on the front. The suspects were reported to have left campus in an older, black, boxy car.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call DPS immediately at (734) 763-1131, or the University's anonymous tip-line at (800) 863-1355.

Two arrested for larcenies from vehicles
Two Ann Arbor men were arrested in May in connection with several larcenies from vehicles parked in the Church Street parking structure May 17. Garret Brandt, 20, was arraigned May 18 on three counts of breaking and entering (B&E) a motor vehicle and one count of possession of alcohol by a minor. Mickey Gray, 22, was arraigned May 24 on three counts of B&E of a motor vehicle.

A DPS officer patrolling the area observed the two men acting suspiciously while carrying several items. After a short footchase, the officer apprehended Brandt at the scene. Gray later was arrested. Each of the felony B&E counts is punishable by five years in jail and/or a $10,000 fine.

Two sexual assaults reported
Two reports of criminal sexual conduct were filed with DPS in May. On May 8, a University Hospital patient filed a complaint about inappropriate conduct during a medical procedure. The Washtenaw County prosecutor's office denied authorizing any charges in the case, so it has been closed.

On May 25, a University Hospital employee reported inappropriate contact from another employee. The investigation is pending.

Small fire set near Diag
An Ann Arbor Police officer reported observing a man lighting a small fire with pieces of paper as he sat on the lawn near the Diag. The fire burned itself out, and the 18-year-old suspect was apprehended by DPS on arson charges.

Custodial equipment removed from closet
A floor scrubber and other custodial equipment were reported stolen from a locked closet in Hutchins Hall May 20. The case is under investigation.

Two vehicles stolen, later recovered
Two vehiclesa motorcycle and a carwere reported stolen from campus in May. Both vehicles later were recovered with no damage.

On May 1, a motorcycle was reported stolen from Lot SC-20. It was found May 23 in another Ann Arbor location. On May 5, a University Hospital patient reported his car was missing after a friend drove him to the hospital for a medical procedure. The car owner found his car the next day in Inkster.
