Mary Ann Bryant, Ruth Kallio, Diana Denney, Sheila Williams and
Lorna Altstetter receive Workplace 2003 Staff Recognition awards
from the Office of Human Resources & Affirmative Action. Bryant
is the administrative manager of the Psychology Department, where
she has carried out the reorganization of the department so that
it is again a "great place to work," according to her
citation for the Outstanding Leadership Award. Kallio, associate
director of academic planning & analysis, has led numerous projects
that have had a wide impact on the University community, and has
a deep knowledge of the operational and academic arms of U-M, says
her citation for the Distinguished Service Award. Denney, Williams
and Altstettermembers of the History Graduate Student Teamreceived
the Exemplary Team Award. The trio "constitutes an invaluable
asset to the History Department and to the University," their
