Bus services changing

Parking and Transportation Services will implement several new enhancements to its bus services this semester.

The Commuter route will expand to operate from 6:30 a.m.-1:30 a.m. and will serve East Medical Center Drive, both northbound and southbound. After 7:15 p.m., the expanded Commuter will replace the Health System's Mitchell-Glazier shuttle and the Nite Owl route. The new service will provide several benefits:

* Seamless connection among the South, Central, Medical and North campuses for 19 hours every weekday

* Evening connection to and from the Medical Center for staff who park at the Crisler Arena lots and the Glazier Way lot

* Evening connection to and from North Campus for faculty, staff and students who park at the Glazier Way lot

* Northbound and southbound stops along East Medical Center Drive at the Cancer and Geriatrics Center, Taubman Center and the Mott parking structure-Markley Hall.

The KMS Shuttle is a new Health System route that will provide service between the Cancer and Geriatrics Center and the KMS Building on South State Street. It will depart each location once per hour from 7:30 a.m.- 4:30 p.m., Monday-Friday.

The North Campus route, which operates weekends and after midnight weekdays, will provide expanded service on Central Campus by circling the Diag and by serving Observatory Street southbound and northbound. The expanded route will provide service within one block of every major residence hall and library.

The effective dates of implementation for these changes are listed in the chart. Consult the http://www.transportation.umich.edu for specific information regarding schedules, routes, bus stops and maps.
