Make benefits elections online with eBenefits

Related story: Changes include online option, PPO plans>

Active faculty and staff now may choose to view their current benefits and make changes for 2005 on the Web. All an employee needs to access the new system for Open Enrollment is a uniqname and UMICH Kerberos password.

Changes can be made on the Web as many times as needed until the Open Enrollment deadline, 7 p.m. Oct. 29.

Employees without a uniqname and/or password should contact the Information Technology Central Services Accounts Office, http://www.itd.umich.edu/accounts/.

As in previous years, the traditional printed Personal Enrollment Worksheet, with its list of rates and benefit options, will be sent to home addresses. Employees may choose to enroll online with eBenefits or they can enroll using the traditional worksheet. They should not use both. If print and Web selections are submitted, eBenefits will override paper enrollment.

To help employees become familiar with Web enrollment through eBenefits and to explain changes in this year's options—including highlights of the new plans and features—Human Resources and Affirmative Action, and Michigan Administrative Information Services have scheduled interchanges on all U-M campuses. The sessions begin this month and run through mid-September as indicated in this chart>.

Registration is not required. The list of interchanges also is available at http://www.umich.edu/~benefits/events/oe/.
