Holidays changes to parking, transportation


Parking and Transportation Services

Offices at 508 Thompson St., 1213 Kipke Dr. and 3231 Baxter Road will close at the end of business Dec. 24. Regular office hours will resume Jan. 5.

Permit Parking

Parking enforcement for color-coded permits and meter fees will be suspended 5 p.m. Dec. 19-6 a.m. Jan. 5.

Buses

Commuter Bus: Regular schedule through Dec. 19, resuming Jan. 5.

Northwood and Bursley-Baits Bus Service: Regular schedule through Dec. 19. North Campus housing areas will be served by the North Campus route.

North Campus Route: From Dec. 20-24, the North Campus route will follow the regular weekend bus schedule, but service will conclude early. From Dec. 20-23, the last bus leaves Central Campus at 12:20 a.m. and Northwood V at 12:25 a.m. On Dec. 24, the last bus leaves Central Campus at 6:15 p.m. and Northwood V at 6:10 p.m. There is no bus service Dec. 25.

From Dec. 26-31, the North Campus route will follow the reduced Winter Break schedule. Service is on 40-minute intervals. The first bus leaves Baits Housing for Northwood I-IV at 7:15 a.m. and Northwood V at 7:20 a.m. The last bus leaves Central Campus at 12:20 a.m. and Northwood V at midnight. There is no bus service Jan. 1.

On Jan. 2, the North Campus route will follow the regular weekend bus schedule, but service will conclude early. The last bus leaves Central Campus at 12:20 a.m. and Northwood V at 12:25 a.m.

Regular weekday bus service resumes Jan. 5. Fliers detailing bus service levels and schedules will be available on buses and at http://www.transportation.umich.edu.

Parking Express (UMMC) Shuttle Services

Shuttles will follow regular schedules through Dec. 23. On Dec. 24, the Intercampus route will follow its regular schedule, and the Mitchell-Glazier schedule will be shortened. The first Mitchell-Glazier shuttle will leave Glazier Way at 6:10 a.m. The last shuttle will leave Taubman at 6:05 p.m. On Dec. 26, 29, 30 and 31, only one route will be in service: a shortened version of the Intercampus route will operate between the North Ingalls Building and the Kellogg & Riverview buildings every half hour from

7 a.m.-5 p.m. The shuttle will leave the North Ingalls Building on the hour and half-hour. The shuttle will leave Riverview (followed by Kellogg) at 15 and 45 minutes past the hour. Stops include Riverview, Kellogg, CGC, Taubman and Mott. No shuttles will operate Dec. 25 and Jan. 1. On Jan. 2, the shortened Intercampus route will operate as it did Dec. 26-31. The Mitchell Express route will operate 6:10 a.m. at the Fuller-Mitchell parking lot until 6:05 p.m. at the CGC. There will be no service to the Glazier Way parking lot. Regular service will resume Jan. 5.

Paratransit transportation operates through Dec. 19 and resumes Jan. 5. All University buses operating during the holiday recess will be handicap accessible.

Parking

Parking A—Taubman Patient/Visitor Structure (M18): Free parking Dec. 25 and Jan. 1. Regular attendant operations 7 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Dec. 24; 9 a.m.-7:30 p.m. Dec. 26, 29, 30 and Jan. 2; 10:30 a.m.-9 p.m. Dec. 27-28 and Jan. 3-4; 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Dec. 31.

Parking B—North Entrance Structure Patient/Visitor Parking (M15): Free parking Dec. 25-Jan. 4. Open for attendant operations 7 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Dec. 24, with regular attendant hours resuming Jan. 5.

Fletcher Structure Patient Parking (N13): Regular operations continue until close of business Dec. 19. Regular business hours resume Jan. 5.

Other

Transportation Garages will close at the end of the day shift Dec. 24 and resume operations at 7 a.m. Jan. 5. Any emergencies 3:30 p.m. Dec. 24-7 a.m. Jan. 5 should be directed to the Department of Public Safety (DPS) at (734) 763-1131.

Fleet Services will close the 1213 Kipke Dr. office at 3 p.m. Dec. 24 and resume at 6:30 a.m. Jan. 5. All vehicle rental requests after 3 p.m. Dec. 24 and before 6:30 a.m. Jan. 5 will need to be picked up Dec. 24 during reduced business hours.

Fuel stations will operate throughout the season break. The Baxter Road station is accessible 24 hours. The Kipke Drive station can be made accessible by contacting DPS at (734) 763-1131.

Parking Maintenance: Direct all emergency calls to DPS, (734) 763-1131.

Ann Arbor Transportation Authority (AATA)

The AATA will not operate fixed-route bus, A-Ride Paratransit or Senior Taxi service Dec. 25 or Jan. 1. Service will be reduced to 30-minute service on routes 4 and 36 Dec. 24-Jan. 2, with no service on routes 1U, 12U and the EMU Shuttle. Service will end at 6:45 p.m. Dec. 24 and Jan. 1. Regular service will resume Jan. 3.

Holiday Ride shared-ride taxi service will operate 7-11 p.m. Dec. 24 and 31. Night Ride taxi service operates 11 p.m.-6 a.m. throughout the holiday week.
