U-M named one of nation's top heart centers for women

The Cardiovascular Center (CVC) is one of the top centers for women's heart care in the nation, according to a new ranking published by Good Housekeeping magazine. It is the only center in Michigan, and one of only 11 in the Midwest, to make the national list. More>

Colonel: Military personnel must manage race differences

People in the military have to be able to recognize and manage differences among races, said a colonel in the United States Marine Corps Reserves (USMCR).

"For us to continue to be the finest fighting force in the world, we have to be able to handle these issues," said Col. Michael Wagner, a U-M alumnus who discussed issues of prejudice, race and affirmative action with the U-M Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps Unit as part of the MLK Symposium Jan. 29.
