Richard Hackel, supervisor of ophthalmic photography at the Kellogg Eye Center, won "Best In Show" in the Ophthalmic Photographers' Society competition at the American Academy of Ophthalmology's annual meeting.

 

 

Franco Nori, associate professor of physics, has been named a fellow of the Institute of Physics (IOP) of the United Kingdom. According to the IOP, fellowship indicates a high level of achievement in physics and outstanding contribution to the profession.

Janie Paul, assistant professor of art and design and social work, has been awarded the Michigan Campus Compact (MCC) Faculty/Staff Community Service-Learning Award. According to the MCC, the award recognizes the influence on or engagement of students to be involved in community service or service-learning through modeling, instruction and/or special projects.

Durfee Koditschek Jagadish

Three College of Engineering professors have been named fellows in their organizations. Edmund Durfee and Dan Koditschek, professors of electrical engineering and computer science (EECS), have been named fellows of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. EECS professor H.V. Jagadish has been named a fellow of the Association for Computing Machinery.
