LSVSP-OVPR annual seed grant program

The Life Sciences, Values and Society Program (LSVSP) and the Office of the Vice President for Research (OVPR) are seeking applications for 2004 LSVSP-OVPR Faculty Seed Grants. The program provides seed funds of $5,000-$20,000 for research to enable faculty to explore the ethical, legal, social and cultural issues raised by developments in the life sciences. Social implications include the ways in which these developments affect society, as well as their impact on the arts, humanities, social sciences, and training and practice in professional fields, such as nursing, public health, education, information science and natural resource management. Cross-cutting collaborative research is encouraged.

Eligible applicants include faculty with at least 50 percent appointments. Applications are due March 15. Funding decisions will be made by the end of April. For more information, visit http:// www.research.umich.edu/funding/UM_Sources/life_sciences_values.html.
