The recipients of the Workplace 2004 Staff Recognition Awards
were honored by the Office of Human Resources & Affirmative
Action June 2 in the Vandenburg Room of the Michigan League. The
Distinguished Service Award was presented to Erica Sanders (left),
director of review and evaluation, Office of Undergraduate Admissions,
for her role in establishing a new admissions process to ensure
that diversity remains a fundamental element of the Michigan experience.
The Outstanding Leadership Award was presented to Karen Dickinson
(second from left), customer service relationship manager, Information
Technology Central Services, for her enthusiasm and innovative
leadership to share information and empower the workforce. The
Institute of Gerontology Administrative Support Team (consisting
of Scott Stanfill, Jane Harlow, Shari Prout, Jane Heibel and Betty
Whitlock) received the Exemplary Team Award for their team cross
training, which enabled each member to expand capabilities, increase
knowledge skills and ultimately provide unparalleled service. Laurita
