Bob Bain, assistant professor, School of Education, demonstrates
electronic teaching tools at the seventh annual Enriching Scholarship
symposium presented by the Teaching and Technology Collaborative
May 10. This year's event in the Michigan Union Ballroom was
entitled "Tempt Your Palate: A Menu of Innovations in Teaching
with Technology." The tools Bain demonstrated were Virtual
Curator and Virtual Expedition. Both were developed for students
who assisted in the reconstruction of a house purchased by
the Henry Ford Museum for its Greenfield Village. Virtual Curator
begins with the director of the Henry Ford Museum posing a
problem to students, asking for their help in reviewing primary
sources to help the museum reconstruct one of the houses it
purchased for Greenfield Village. Virtual Expedition allowed
students to explore on a computer screen a number of houses
on the grounds of Greenfield Village. (Photo by Paul Jaronski,
