Send the information by 5 p.m. Dec. 2 to urecord@umich.edu or by fax to (734) 764-7084. Nov., Dec. payroll dates The last biweekly and monthly payrolls for November will be distributed Nov. 26. The December monthly payroll will be distributed Dec. 22, and the last biweekly payroll Dec. 26, per the normal biweekly pay schedule. Dec. 23 last day for vendor payments The Treasurer's Office, in cooperation with Financial Operations and Accounts Payable, says Dec. 23 will be the last day for a check to be issued by U-M to vendors before the end of 2003. Rackham Summer Interdisciplinary Institute The Rackham School of Graduate Studies is seeking applicants for participation in the new Rackham Summer Interdisciplinary Institute. The second-stage initiative will offer support to interdisciplinary collaborations undertaken by teams of faculty and/or graduate students, in the context of a wider dialogue about the nature of advanced inquiry. Projects accepted for the institute will receive up to $30,000 in funding. Participants will engage in a dialogue in May 2004, and pursue their projects during the subsequent summer and academic year. College of Pharmacy receives gift to medicinal chemistry The College of Pharmacy has received a gift from Ronnie Cresswell, retired senior vice president and chief scientific officer of Parke-Davis Pharmaceutical Division of Warner Lambert Co. Cresswell, who has served as a professor of medicinal chemistry in the College of Pharmacy, made the gift of $750,000 to create the Sheila B. Cresswell Fellowship in Medicinal Chemistry in honor of his wife. George Kenyon, dean of the College of Pharmacy, says through fellowships such as this, "the college can be assured that it is attracting the best and the brightest young scholars." Regents to meet Nov. 20 The Board of Regents will hold its monthly meeting Nov. 20 in the Regents Room of the Fleming Administration Building.
