Rosina Bierbaum, dean of the School of Natural Resources and
Environment (SNRE), and James van Sweden, landscape architect and co-founder
of Oehme van Sweden & Associates, connect at an SNRE alumni reception
and student recruiting event in Washington, D.C. The recycled glass memento
recognizes van Sweden's support of SNRE. Van Sweden shared reflections
with the group on his work designing the forthcoming World War II memorial
in Washington. It will be at the east end of the Reflecting Pool between
the Lincoln Memorial and the Washington Monument. The memorial is on schedule
for completion in March 2004, according to http://www.wwiimemorial.com/.
