News briefsBorders Days to benefit Children's Centers The U-M Children's Centers (UMCC) will benefit from Borders Benefits Days Nov. 7-9. Shoppers at the Liberty Street and Arborland locations who mention that their purchases are for UMCC will have a percentage of their total donated to the centers. MRRC funding extended five years The Michigan Retirement Research Center (MRRC) has been awarded funding for another five years. MRRC is sponsored by the Social Security Administration and housed at the Institute for Social Research. With affiliated researchers around the world, MRRC provides support for research, dissemination of research, and facilitation of data usage in the area of social security and retirement policy. MRRC produces a quarterly newsletter, Issue Brief Series and working paper series, which can be accessed at http://www.mrrc.isr.umich.edu. Part of Ann Street to close Ann Street between Zina Pitcher Place and Glen Avenue will be closed to through traffic 9 a.m. Oct. 27-4 p.m. Oct. 30 in order to install air handling equipment in the new Biomedical Science Research Building.
