Upcoming road closure and traffic shifts

• West Medical Center Drive will be closed intermittently through Oct. 30 while cooling towers are replaced in Medical Science Research Building II (MSRBII). This will require periodic 15-minute closures of West Medical Center Drive during the week as the equipment is lifted by a crane. People with flags will direct traffic, though drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes. The circle drive at the entrance of MSRBII will be closed to vehicle traffic throughout the project, though pedestrians will be permitted to access the front doors.

• Parts of East Medical Center Drive and Washington Heights will be one-way only Oct. 30-Nov. 8 to allow for the completion of a duct bank installation. East Medical Center Drive will be one-way westbound from East Hospital Drive to Observatory Street. Two lanes of westbound East Medical Center Drive traffic will be maintained at all times during the detour. The south entrance to M22 will remain open.

Eastbound East Medical Center Drive traffic from Observatory Street will be re-routed on Washington Heights. Traffic will not be permitted to turn east on to East Medical Center Drive from Observatory. The eastbound traffic pattern to the M22 deck and other hospital buildings will be east on Washington Heights to East Medical Center Drive.

Washington Heights will become eastbound only.

• Single lane reductions on northbound Glen Avenue are anticipated periodically from through Nov. 6 for work at the Biomedical Science Research Building.
