Dr. Paul Lichter, director of the Kellogg Eye Center and chair of the Department of Ophthalmology & Visual Sciences, is the recipient of the 2005 A. Edward Maumenee Award for Distinguished Services. The Pan-American Association of Ophthalmology presents the award to individuals who have contributed to continuing education for ophthalmologists, the prevention of blindness, and the promotion of scientific and cultural exchange among ophthalmologists in the western hemisphere. Lichter received the award in March at the XXV Panamerican Congress in Santiago, Chile.
