President Mary Sue Coleman, the governor of Michigan, and the presidents of Wayne State (WSU) and Michigan State (MSU) meet with students and alumni of the three universities who are serving as guides and translators for the state-sponsored United States Pavilion at the 2005 World Expo in Aichi, Japan. The expo was built around the concept that people in today's global society must "work together in the pursuit of a sustainable and harmonious coexistence for all life on Earth," according to the event Web site.Coleman, MSU President Lou Anna Kimsey Simon and WSU President Irvin Reid accompanied Gov. Jennifer Granholm on part of her recent five-day Investment in Michigan mission to Japan, during which they met with the country's business and industry leaders in hopes of attracting international business to boost jobs in the state.The presidents and governor held a seminar in Osaka, Japan, designed to promote Michigan's life sciences industry, before attending the reception with the students and alumni in the city of Hikone.Pictured are: Coleman, Haruko Ueda, Sanober Khan, Reid, Aaron Keys, Caren Bales, Gov.
