Stevenson memorial service Aug. 28

A memorial service for Harold Stevenson, a retired psychology professor who died July 8 (see http://www.umich.edu/~urecord/0405/July25_05/obits.shtml), will be held Aug. 28 in East Hall. The service will be 2-3 p.m. in the first-floor auditorium, followed by a reception. For more information contact Shirley Mullen at smullen@umich.edu.

New department name for Plant Extension-AEC

The campus unit responsible for managing major campus construction and renovation projects—Plant Extension-Architecture, Engineering and Construction—has changed its name. The department dropped the Plant Extension portion of its name and will be known as Architecture, Engineering and Construction, or AEC. Hill Auditorium renovation wins award

U-M, designers Albert Kahn Associates of Detroit and Quinn Evans Architects of Ann Arbor, and construction company The Christman Company of Lansing recently were honored with an Engineering Society of Detroit Construction & Design Award for the renovation of Hill Auditorium. The awards, which are based on peer-to-peer recognition in the construction industry, honor three primary members of a building team.
