src="img/041206_hockey.jpg" width="375" height="256"></td> </tr> <tr> <td><p>Singer Kid Rock and Detroit Red Wing Chris Chelios chat on the ice Dec. 2 after the Pro-Am Skate for Mott at Yost Ice Arena. The sold-out event featured an all-star lineup of hockey players, including Chelios, Kris Draper, Steve Yzerman, Sergei Fedorov and Nicklas Lidstrom. Tickets were $10, with all proceeds benefiting the Champions for Children campaign to build a new children’s and women’s hospital. Professional players were joined on the ice by the USA 18 and under hockey team. Dave Roberts, a former U-M hockey club member and professional hockey player, organized the event to get fellow players and former U-M teammates back on the ice for a good cause. He decided to make the Mott campaign the focus of the charity event following a conversation with his former hockey coach at U-M, Red Berenson.
