Photos: 'Kans for Kids'

Cans, cash and checks from Cardiovascular Center (CVC) construction workers, management, consultants and contractors added up to $8,000, and they gave the money to the Mott Child and Family Life Department for holiday gifts and parties. The contributions came from individuals and corporate donors. "The initial goal was to raise money for the party, and they just went over and above to support the programs and activities of the Child and Family Life Department. Parties and activities provide support and diversions for children and their families," says Kim Barker, Mott community relations manager. "The Child and Family Life Department is reliant on donations, and this gift from the CVC construction workers was a wonderful surprise and greatly appreciated just before the holiday," says Donna Murphy, director of the department.
