Frieze
Building's
historical
high
school
connection
I
see there are plans for a residence
hall to replace the Frieze Building.
That may be progress, but I was
very surprised that there was
no mention that the Frieze Building
was the old Ann Arbor High School
(AAHS), in use for many years
prior to about 1956, when Pioneer
high began operating over by
the football stadium.
My mother graduated from the old AAHS in 1932, and my first U-M class
in 1964 was in the Frieze Building. Michigan students are often sentimental,
and it would have been nice to have mentioned the AAHS linkage.
