Photo: Bats come out at night

Pitchers Dan Lentz, Jeff Niemiec and Chris Fetter walk to the dugout before the Wolverine baseball team played its first intrasquad scrimmage under the lights at Ray Fisher Stadium Sept. 24. The lights, a gift from an anonymous former player, were installed after the completion of the 2004 season. U-M will play the first official night game versus Ohio State April 22. The Wolverines have seven additional night contests scheduled for the 2005 season. "The addition of lights to Fisher Stadium continues to show the support that the Michigan baseball program has received from the University and the alumni since I have been here," Coach Rich Maloney says. All three hurlers shown here figured in the intrasquad game, as Lentz recorded the win, Niemiec threw two scoreless innings and Fetter took the loss. (Photo by Martin Vloet, U-M Photo Services)
