Alec Gallimore, associate professor
of aerospace engineering, received the 2004 GEM Outstanding Alumni
in Academia Award "in recognition of his outstanding achievements
in the field of education." GEM, the National Consortium for
Graduate Degrees for Minorities in Engineering and Science, is a
nonprofit organization whose mission is to enhance the value of the
nation's human capital by increasing the participation of underrepresented
minorities (American Indians, African Americans, and Mexican Americans,
Puerto Ricans and other Hispanic Americans) at the master's and doctoral
levels in engineering and science. |

Vern Terpstra, professor emeritus
of international business at the Business School, is recipient of the
2004 Significant Contributions to Global Marketing Research Award from
the American Marketing Association Global Marketing Special Interest
Group. The award recognizes marketing faculty members who have made
significant contributions to the advancement of global marketing thought. |

Stacey Pearson, a psychologist and assistant director of psychology
training at Counseling and Psychological Services, will receive the Association
of Counseling Center Training Agencies’ 2004 Diversity Mentorship Scholarship
Program award, which recognizes national emerging leaders in the field of
psychology training. The award will be presented during the association’s
October conference.
