"I dream of building a place where nothing exists except dance," says Protima Gauri, founder of the Nrityagram Dance Ensemble, whose mission is to document, perform, preserve and embellish the seven primary classical Indian dance forms. The all-female company lives in an artist commune in Bangalore, India where they train and study Indian literature mythology, poetry, spiritual thought and more.
