Don't MissFaculty Women's Club to hold luncheon, meetingCarol Hollenshead, director of the Center for the Education of Women, will be the featured speaker at the Faculty Women's Club (FWC) annual spring luncheon and business meeting 11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. April 26 in the Michigan League Ballroom. Hollenshead, who has extensive experience overseeing local and national issues for women, including those pertaining to research, service programs, advocacy, policy development, higher education, career and leadership, will speak on "Four Decades of Change for Women." The event will include an exhibit by the FWC painting section and the popular book exchange. Cost is $20 and reservations are due April 14. Sixth Life Sciences Orchestra season closes May 5 A vibrant violin solo and two brassy fanfares will help bring the sixth season of the Life Sciences Orchestra (LSO) to a close with a free public concert at 8 p.m. May 5 at Hill Auditorium. The LSO and music director John Padgett Goodell will present works by Tchaikovsky and Copland, as well as a violin solo featuring Tugsu Armstrong, a U-M student and winner of the LSO Concerto Competition. The orchestra is made up of members of the medical, health and life science communities, including faculty, staff, students, volunteers, family members and alumni.
