Kang Shin, the Kevin and Nancy O’Connor Profesor of Computer Science and professor of electrical engineering and computer science, has been selected to receive the 2006 Ho-Am Prize in Engineering. The highest honor bestowed to Korean-origin engineers and researchers, the prize carries a cash prize of more than $200,000 and a gold medal. It is given to individuals who have contributed to cultural, artistic and social development or furthered the welfare of humanity through distinguished accomplishments in their respective professional fields.

Dr. Paul Lichter, chair and the F. Bruce Fralick Professor of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences, and director of the Kellogg Eye Center, received the A. Anagnostakis and A. Trantas Gold Medal of Merit and Honor from the Greek Glaucoma Society at the 13th International Glaucoma Congress in Athens. The annual meeting was established to allow internationally known glaucoma specialists to share new developments in treatment and research with ophthalmologists from around the world. |
