The Digital Media Commons was awarded the 2006 NMC Center of Excellence Awards in recognition of its leadership in the use of collaborative technologies and exemplary support of students and faculty. The award honors demonstrated excellence and achievement in the application of technology to learning or creative expression. East U, State Street work scheduled

In upcoming work that will affect campus traffic, the repaving of East University from Hill to Packard streets by the city is scheduled to continue next week as part of an annual resurfacing project. Traffic lanes on State Street between East Madison and Hill streets also will be shifted one lane east through the end of June in order for DTE to install new gas service. The sidewalk on the east side of the street will be reopened to pedestrian traffic to accommodate the west sidewalk closure.

North campus lot closed through July 14

Lot NC27, visitor parking next to the Pierpont Commons, will be closed for renovation through July 14 to allow construction of a new access drive to the lot and some repaving. The south half of the circle drive to the commons main entrance will be open as construction activities permit, and loading and unloading should be completed at the commons loading dock. Five free parallel parking spaces on the south side of Bonisteel Boulevard, across from Pierpont Commons, also will be provided for 30-minute visitor parking. Additional parking can be found in Lots NC43 south of Art & Architecture and NC8 at the corner of Fuller Road and Beal Avenue. These lots are metered and require payment of an hourly fee.
