United Way progressing well, donations still needed

With the end of the annual United Way campaign near, the University is more than three-quarters of the way to its goal of $850,000.

In addition, organizers have extended the campaign through the end of Thanksgiving week, Nov. 25.

"U-M employees have overwhelmingly reached out to help those in our local community with generous donations, and we most graciously thank everyone," co-chairs Dr. Robert Kelch, vice president for medical affairs and U-M Health System CEO, and Marvin Krislov, vice president and general counsel, wrote in an e-mail to faculty and staff. "Our community is also supporting families displaced by (hurricanes) Katrina, Rita and Wilma, and your generosity is especially appreciated."

Faculty and staff who want to donate can download and print a copy of the pledge form at http://www.uway.umich.edu and mail it to: United Way Office, 6080 Fleming, Campus Zip 1340.

"The many local agencies who receive your generous dollars are thankful; the Washtenaw United Way is thankful; and we are most thankful for the support of generous employees like you to help reach our goal of $850,000," Kelch and Krislov said.
