Search committee seeks candidates for CoE deanMartha Pollack, professor and associate chair of electrical engineering and computer science, will lead the committee comprised of faculty, staff and students from the college, and members of the larger engineering community. At its first meeting June 30 the committee was charged with presenting a slate of candidates by mid-February 2006. Other committee members, who are from the college unless otherwise indicated, are: Peter Adriaens, professor of civil and environmental engineering, CoE and School of Natural Resources and Environment; Ellen M. Arruda, associate professor of mechanical engineering and of macromolecular science and engineering; Robert J. Buckler, president and chief operating officer, DTE Energy Distribution, DTE Energy Company; Brad Canale, director of college relations in engineering administration; Michael R. Combi, distinguished research scientist in the Space Physics Research Lab and research professor of atmospheric, oceanic and space sciences; Alec D. Gallimore, professor of aerospace engineering; Erdogan Gulari, Donald L. Katz Collegiate Professor of Chemical Engineering; William S. Lovejoy, Raymond T. Perring Family Professor of Business Administration and professor of operations and management science in the Stephen M. Ross School of Business; Tresa M. Pollock, professor of materials science and engineering; Lauren E. Russell, undergraduate student of naval architecture and marine engineering; Kristi E. Schmidt, doctoral student of industrial and operations engineering; Wei Shyy, Clarence L. "Kelly" Johnson Collegiate Professor and chair of aerospace engineering.
