Real Estate Forum scholarship deadline Oct. 7

The U-M Urban Land Institute (ULI) Real Estate Forum will award five $2,000 scholarships to students who make submissions by the Oct. 7 deadline. The scholarships will be awarded at the 19th Annual U-M/ULI Real Estate Forum Oct. 19-20 at the Marriott Hotel in Detroit and at the Michigan League. U-M graduate students studying business, architecture, urban planning, public policy, law, natural resources or engineering who are interested in the scholarships must submit a resume and write a paper about regionalism in metro Detroit.

Participants must address the question: Some believe that regionalism offers the only hope for an economically thriving southeast Michigan. Should Detroit and the surrounding suburbs unite to work together as cooperative partners? Discuss the pros or cons of doing so, citing examples. Papers must be two pages, double-spaced, using 12-point font. All submissions must be e-mailed with a resume to Peter Allen at ptallen@umich.edu and to Jim Kosteva at jkosteva@umich.edu by the deadline.
