Wiping out cancer so that no child suffers from the disease is a goal of Dr. James Geiger, a pediatric cancer surgeon at the Medical School. Before he rides later this month in the Bristol-Myers Squibb Tour of Hope with cancer survivor and cycling legend Lance Armstrong, Geiger enjoyed a U-M sendoff Sept. 14 in the University Hospital courtyard. Here, Geigerwho will be one of 23 cyclists riding across the country to raise awareness of cancer clinical trialschats with Justine and Hannah and Fischer. Hannah Fischer, center, was a melanoma patient at the Comprehensive Cancer Center and one of several former and current patients at the rally to wish Geiger good luck in his cross-country journey.
