News BriefsGoods needed for hurricane reliefThe University is joining with the Washtenaw County ETCS and the local chapter of the Salvation Army to collect durable goods, clothing and selected personal items to assist victims of Hurricane Katrina. Collection boxes are located in the Michigan Union and League, and Palmer and Pierpont commons. Items collected will be distributed first to meet the needs of hurricane victims and families relocated to the greater Washtenaw area. Remaining items will either be sent to assist families in areas impacted by the hurricane or be used by the Salvation Army to aid local families and individuals in need. Items needed include: bath soap, toothbrushes & paste, towels, deodorant, feminine products, dishes, bedding, clothing, socks, t-shirts, infant items like diapers, baby powder and wipes.
