Dr. Charles B. Smith, professor of pharmacology, has been re-elected chair of the Senate Advisory Committee on University Affairs (SACUA) for 2007-08. Smith, a member of the committee since 2005, is scheduled to start a second term May 1, contingent on approval of his re-election by the Senate Assembly. David Potter, the Arthur F. New podcasts showcase U-M inventions

U-M Tech Transfer has launched a series of podcasts showcasing U-M inventions, researchers, and tech transfer opportunities for outside commercialization partners. The U-M TechCast is designed to provide expanded information on selected technologies emerging from research, along with occasional inventor interviews. TechCast is available as a subscription and online at the U-M Tech Transfer Web site, techtransfer.umich.edu/pod_casting. The first two episodes focus on an innovative lecture capture and speaker tracking system developed by former U-M interim President Homer Neal, and on ergonomic software that helps calculate the strength required for various tasks and population percentages that can reasonably be expected to complete them. To listen, go to www.techtransfer.umich.edu/pod_casting. To find out more about these and other U-M technologies, call the office at 763-0614 or go to techfinder.techtransfer.umich.edu.
